Register for the Lizard Under the Skillet today!

Yes, July is hot! But Kansas cyclists have endured the heat and happily pedaled in scorching sun time and time again. What better way to beat the heat than to come out to Lawrence, Kansas, and ride the Lizard Under the Skillet. There will be 30, 40 and 65 mile options available to ride. All routes are on paved roads. For those cyclists who want an even hotter ride we will provide hot peppers, and an assortment of spicy mexican fare. We’ll even provide space heaters and blankets for those of you who are afraid you might catch a chill at the sags. For the sane cyclists (wimps), there will be the usual fruit, water and cookies at the sags.
New this year! Beat the crowds the morning of the ride and pick-up your registration materials on Saturday, July 12 at CycleWorks, 21st and Kasold, North of Hy-Vee on Clinton Pkwy, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The fee is $20 for early registration and $25 for registrations mailed after July 1 or received the day of the ride. The fee includes rest stops and SAG service. A t-shirt is available for an additional $10 per shirt. The shirt is printed with a large “Skillet” logo on the back and a small heartprint on the front. (T-shirts always run out early! We recommend you pre-register before July 1, 2008 to insure you get a t-shirt.)
Pre-registration will be on Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at CycleWorks, 21st and Kasold, North of Hy-Vee on Clinton Pkwy, Lawrence, Kansas. Registration the day of the ride, July 13 will be from 6-8 a.m.
The ride begins at 6-8 a.m. at Broken Arrow Park. The Lawrence Bicycle Club will provide SAG stops on all three routes. The route maps will identify rest room facilities near those SAG stops without porto-poties. The course closes at 4 p.m.
Rolls provided by Great Harvest Bread Co. CycleWorks will provide mechanical repairs. Sunflower bike shop will staff the Mexican SAG.
